You have heard the term “A picture can say a thousand words.” Right well, what would a full animation of your product say to a potential investor or manufacturer. An animation can be created of your product. Two examples of animation software that I used to create some animations are: 3D Studio Max, and Auto Desk Inventor. There are many more. Some impressive animation can be achieved even with basic programs; however, the rendering can take a lot of time on an ordinary home computer. But with todays technology it is easer than ever now.
Some higher end home computers are being used to genarate animations. Autodesk Inventor CAD program can create animations to see the full assembly in real action. It’s a good tool to see if parts rotate or swing the way you intended them to.

To the right is an animation of an assembly which shows how useful this tool can be. It also identifies areas that have interference. Such as areas that would cause serious damage to a part if you are not aware of it.

With the 3D CAD data we can create an animation to find those conflicting areas or create an animation presentation to get clearer information to the people you make contact with.
The image here shows an area that had interference (red areas shown) which was later modified to correct the part.

Animation of an assembly, how it can look in a finished product and can be set in its environment. This is just an idea how an animation can be used.
